SPM recognises the obligations imposed by legislation covering Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and supporting Codes of Practice which are applicable to our operations.
SPM is committed to regular discussions with employees to ensure that health and safety issues are regularly viewed.
SPM requires every employee and contractor, regardless of position or occupation to comply with the rules, to follow safe working practices and to fully co-operate and actively participate in our OH&S program. All employees and contractors must meet their obligations as required by Legislation, Regulations or Codes of Practice.
Must ensure that the Company's agreed policies and procedures are monitored and adhered to by all employees and contractors entering our sites.
Must make regular assessments of health and safety performance.
Will provide adequate resources to correct identified health and safety issues.
Must provide information, training and supervision for all employees and contractors in the correct use of equipment, chemicals and other substances used.
Must ensure Health and Safety Committees are established and are properly trained and versed with this policy and the OH&S Rules and Regulations.
Have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and of others affected by their actions at work.
Should comply with safety procedures and directives
Must not willfully interfere with or misuse items or facilities provided in the interest of health and safety.
Must inform the Safety Committee of dangers and accidents which may affect workplace health and safety.
Must use protective clothing or equipment made available in a manner which may affect workplace health and safety.
Must use protective clothing or equipment made available in a manner in which the employee and contractor have been adequately instructed to its proper use, maintenance and storage.
